FARO de Satelite Competition
Ciudad Satelite / Mexico
2009
We deal with the needs that motivate the construction of the viaduct Bicentennial and understand that any solution to the problem of transit should be linked to Urban Landmark, and not vice versa. A horizontal platform covers the freeway, creating above it a space for contemplation and pedestrian trail: the new Satellite Towers Square . A number of routes and spaces surround the sculpture, and the water keeps away the observer to allow a greater perspective of the towers. Moreover, the reflections in the water give a solemn setting that enhances the whole. The traffic must be subordinated to the Towers, and not vice versa.
